James Raccuglia

James Raccuglia – Vice President

 

James Raccuglia is the Director of the production staff at PFDA Architects, Inc. He is responsible for developing the design concept for a project into a set of contract documents composed of drawings and written specifications. Mr. Raccuglia coordinates the project team which includes the Architectural staff and various consultants representing Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Landscaping and Civil Engineering as required by the scope of the project. In addition he provides technical assistance and resources to the staff as the work progresses.

 

Mr. Raccuglia is a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago. He is licensed in Illinois and has been with PFDA since 1985. He is also a member of the Association of Licensed Architects.

 

Projects that Mr. Raccuglia has managed involving the adaptive reuse of existing structures include:

 

            Smith and Hawkins Garden Center, Chicago, IL The project consisted of a conversion of an abandoned 17,000 S.F. industrial gas pumping facility in a gentrifying neighborhood to a Smith and Hawkins Garden Center.

 

           North and Sheffield Commons, Chicago, IL Adapted a two story masonry building that formerly housed a beer bottling plant to an Erehwon Outdoor Sports retail store, an American Outfitters clothing store and a Peet’s Coffee.
